We make financial software that takes the math seriously and itself a little less so. The engine underneath is the kind we've spent our careers building. The cat around the office is there because a plan you enjoy making is a plan you'll actually keep.
Hailcat LLC is an independent, self-funded fintech company based in New Jersey. We're small on purpose: one engine, full attention, and nobody to answer to but the people using the app.
Our background is quantitative finance and actuarial science, which is a fancy way of saying we've spent our careers modeling markets, lifespans, and the tax code. At some point we noticed the retirement tools our friends were using wouldn't survive five minutes of professional scrutiny, and the ones that would were priced like enterprise software. So we built the planner we'd want our own families to use. It wore a pixel cat for its first year; it wears a halo now.
And yes, Maximillion the box-cat is on the org chart. Title: Chief Morale Officer. Responsibilities: naps, morale, and quality assurance by walking across the keyboard.
The friendly look is a choice we made so the app feels like something you'll open twice. The engineering underneath is the choice we care most about.
We keep the full recipe to ourselves, but the principles are simple:
Hailcat is a fintech company: consumer financial software built on one planning engine. Here's the line so far.
Our flagship (formerly HailCat Retirement Planner): a retirement planner built around the two questions everyone actually asks. When can I retire, and how much can I spend? Meet the planner →
Twelve questions become a life expectancy and, more usefully, the range around it. Built on published US mortality data, calculated on your device, and the same engine now powers the personalized longevity inside the planner. Meet Seraph: Life Expectancy →

More financial decision tools built on the same engine. If there's something you wish existed, tell us. The roadmap has room.
Hailcat LLC is independent and currently self funded, and we are open to outside investors. We are also planning a series of business partnerships.
If you would like to be part of either, please reach out through our contact form. Maximillion will sit in on the meeting.
The best introduction to Hailcat is five minutes with the planner.
